If you have been to Hongkong many times and you want to do something new this blog post might interest you.
When me and my partner travel, we usually want to go to a place both of us have not traveled yet. In this case, both of us has been vacationing to Hongkong before we met so we wanted to do something different and something new for both of us.
We booked a cruise trip via Star Cruises Superstar Virgo. This is a 2 days/1 night trip, perfect for those who want to try cruising before embarking into longer cruise trips. I for one has motion sickness so i find this trip interesting.
We checked in around 4pm at the Ocean Terminal. There was a long queue but the check in process was fast and efficient. You have to leave your passport at the check in counter and we were informed that it will be given back to us upon check out.
We were each given a card which can be used when you purchase anything from their stores, spas, salon, restaurants or buy chips at the casino.
Superstar Virgo is one of the biggest ship of Star Cruises. As we enter the gigantic ship, i was in awe of the beautiful lobby that welcomed us. There were performers singing at the Grand Piazza when we arrived. The mood was very festive.
Upon check in, we settled in our cabin. We then went out to explore the ship.We learned that there is a basketball court and a Helipad at the topmost deck of the ship.

The wide array of the ship amenities cater to all the different needs of the passengers. Upon check in, we were given a map of the entire ship so that it will be easier for us to explore the ship. There are also signage everywhere and the staff were very friendly and accommodating so communicating with them is never a problem.
After exploring the boat, we felt hungry already. We went up to the Mediterranean Terrace Buffet. This is generally popular to guests as this is included in the package that we availed. There is a queue but it was fast and we were seated comfortably near the window with the ocean view. This restaurant offers a wide choice of food for the non-vegetarian, vegetarian and muslims too. It is located at the highest level boasting a 360 degrees view of the sea.
There are also other restaurants that you can choose from charged to your account like Palazzo Restaurant, an Italian restaurant which only entertain guests in their smart casual wear. The Taj, which serves indian-inspired gourmets. Blue Lagoon, an all-day dining of asian cuisine. Samurai Restaurant, for those who want to savor Japanese cuisine. Taverna, which is tucked at the deck facing the Parthenon Pool serving light snacks, cocktails and beers.
After a sumptuous buffet dinner, we went around the ship more. We went back to our cabin to rest and freshen up. We were thinking of playing Casino but then i never have luck on any raffles, bingo games, mahjong, cards or casino so we opted to lounge at the Galaxy of the Stars which has a live band performers. There are a lot of Filipino staff here at the ship and we were glad that we are able to talk with them. It’s great seeing Filipinos whenever we travel and we always find time to mingle with them.
At around 11 in the evening, we went back to Mediterranean Terrace Restaurant where they serve light snacks buffet. It was another gastronomic feast for us!
We ended the night chilling at Taverna over a bottle of beer with the impressive backdrop of the pool and the sea.
The next day, we woke up early because we planned to either swim at the pool or hit the gym but we were captivated by the sunrise that we just sit at the ship deck and see the splendid sunrise in front of us.
We went up to the 560-seater Bella Vista Dining Room which serves international cuisine to have our breakfast with the picturesque view of the ocean. It is designed with large window glass that highlights the back view of the cruise ship.
Went back to our room with delighted tummies.
We checked out of the ship but we left our things at the concierge because we went to Harbour Centre which is located at the Ocean Terminal where our ship docked. This is actually a very strategic mall which is really big comprised of 450 shops, around 50 restaurants, 3 hotels and 2 cinemas. This is Hongkong’s biggest mall!
We also explored Avenue of the Stars which is a few steps away from Ocean Terminal.
